How is diversity understood in different countries? What are the perspectives that can inspire diversity agents in the corporate world in Germany? Are there best practices when it comes to establishing goals and objectives? These and other aspects of diversity will be the focus of this panel in which four speakers will offer their insights and examples from their respective industries and countries. We will discuss cases from the UK, Spain and Sweden and reflect on their relevance in the context of Germany as well as engage in a lively discussion on good practices in the field.

About the speakers

Alireza Assobar is a digital, diversity and management consultant. He works in Digital Transformation at Deloitte Consulting Germany. As a campaigner for D&I he is passionated to change the business community and society towards a greater diversity, inclusion, equity, equality and belonging for ALL D&I dimensions. The son of Iranian immigrants does this by speaking in panels, building up communities and mentoring and coaching people in and outside of his organization. Alireza is a member of the Deloitte Council for Diversity and Inclusion in Germany, the mastermind, and co-hosts of the Deloitte Diversity Podcast “Breaking Bias”. For his commitment, he was awarded the Diversity Ambassador Award by Deloitte Consulting in Germany in 2021.

Christian Berg is CEO of the AllBright Foundation in Germany. The AllBright Foundation is a nonprofit entity which monitors, analyzes and comments on developments in the business world and advocates for more women and diversity in business leadership positions. Christian Berg was a diplomat at the Swedish Foreign Ministry for 20 years serving in Athens, Vienna and Berlin.  

Katharina Miller is a German attorney and founding partner of the boutique law firm 3C Compliance and an expert in the field of corporate governance, corporate compliance and human rights. She is the President of the European Women Lawyers Association. She has created legally compliant guidelines and internal organizational procedures in the area of equality in several companies. Due to her European and international orientation, she brings good practice examples from several countries including Spain, UK and Germany. 

Annette Sheridan is the Global Chief Human Resources Officer at Mayer Brown with over 25 years‘ experience in the field. She has held a number of senior roles within financial services, technology and healthcare before joining the legal sector. In her current role Annette is responsible for leading the firm’s HR, talent architecture and learning and development programmes for lawyers and business services professionals. She has a degree in Psychology and Sociology, a Masters in Human Resources Management and an MBA.
